2008/07/27 stormy weather

hurricane main season, i tend to forget that. on sunday, we were preparing a wonderful barbecue, when all of a sudden the sky started to become black, almost black.

it started as any other thunderstorm we've had so far, but within minutes the wind became stronger and stronger. i stopped smiling and admiring, when the grill and some chairs were blowing around, sentences like 'they did'nt predict this on the weather channel' or 'this is the strongest storm except a hurricane that i have seen', did not make me feel any better.

the fact that matt and me were on different floors and me being too afraid to run down to him, made it slighlty more uncomfortable. but he picked me up and we watched the storm - everything was fine, apparently . 130 km/h (80mph) ain't too bad, i know; and the houses here can withstand the storms better than ours at home, i know that, too. but still, i was happy, when it was over.

anyway - no worries: none of the new orleanians was even slightly distracted, and as long as everyone is smiling, there is no need to not do so, too.
to give you an idea, how i felt, watch the movie, especially the swing.
