2009/07/18-21 mountain training

matt & i had bought tickets for a fun event on the traunstein on july 25. only having been hiking a little we had to start our training. the nice thing about hiking is that it doesn't really feel like a workout, but more like spending some nice time together in the beautiful nature.

we started at the traunstein base to head up for the kleinen schönberg and the mairalm, two small routes as a nice warm-up. the first day on the kleinen schönberg was not as easy as originally planned, though. well-organized moni loves well-organized hiking routes, i.e. indicated by austrian flag symbols. we most certainly lost them and instead a nice one-hour hike we crawled through the woods for 2.5 hours.

somewhat exhausting [even more for matt, who had to deal with my nervous breakdown], but it paid off in the end.

mairalm was fine, too - especially as we brought gundi. moreover, we found some baby animals such as snakes, whose life we could safe.

tuesday, july 21 we chose to do a longer hike onto the rinner and even further to the beautiful wildensee. see for yourself on the pictures.

it was so clear that we even had to skinny dip a little.
