2011/04/17 Ödensee

This week we went a little further south to where the river Traun is rising..
We passed beautiful fields,
..romantic woods,

..and a little creek..

..before we finally got to the peaceful lake.
This is a great insider tip for going swimming in summer!

2011/04/02 Altausseer See

Matt bought an awesome hiking guide through the Salzkammergut East region, which offers a great variety of trails in all kinds of levels.

Since my mobility already is a little compromised..
..we picked out an easy route about one of the Salzkammergut's most beautiful lakes: the Altausseer See.
It is surrounded by mountains,
as for example the Loser (that's its name for real.. you have to pronounce it German, though *smile*)
or the Dachstein range.

The rural architecture is adorable,

..but can certainly not take up with nature's beauty.

2010/09/14 The castles

Salzburg is a must for any visitor of Austria.. and therefore we lingered through the Mirabell castle's garden, through the old town up to the castle "Hohensalzburg". We had an awesome view over Mozart's home city.

Baby daughter's pics are great, too - check them out on her website.

2010/09/11 Ella's Party

Since we had to celebrate that our family had had a new baby, my Mom hosted a party at our campground. Our little ones' privacy most certainly has the highest priority, wherefore you can find their pictures at our password secured website.

As usual, the party on the 'Grund' was great,..
since the BBQ was awesome,..
drinks were cold,..
and the cakes were just delicious.
Afterwards we toured the Salzkammergut a little, to show Cindy more beautiful lakes of the region. We started with the Attersee..
and also passed by the Mondsee.
Hard to tell, which one is prettier..

2010/09/11 A stunning view

The greatest view over Gmunden, the mountains, and the lake you can get from the top of the Gmundnerberg. There is not much to say, but enjoy the pictures.

Isn't the sunset gorgeous?

2010/09/09 'on' the traunstein

'Unterm Stein' means 'the bottom of the rock', and is a beautiful area [that does not require too much verbal description] on Gmunden's east bank.

Of course, we also walked up a little, passing tunnels and great views..
..before we went back down to enjoy the lakeside.
