2010/07/18 First real weekend trip

Weather was great - neither too hot nor too cold - and therefore we thought it would be nice to discover our home the Salzkammergut. Hallstatt is a nice train ride away and extremely charming.

It all starts with a boat ride from the train station to the village across the Hallstätter See.

The village itself is rather small; it takes about an hour to walk from the main square ..

.. through the small paths above the city ..

.. past the bone house ..

.. along the lake ..

.. back to the center.

Little baby daughter was so comfortable on her daddy's belly that she basically missed the whole tour. New pictures of her are posted at http://akigaki.meonnet.com, password is the same as usual.

2008/05/04 hallstätter run

after the marathon in linz i had actually told myself not to participate in a tournament so soon again. but then i heard about the 'hallstätter seerundlauf' around one of the most beautiful lakes in austria. i said to myself 'let's just do this for yourself, don't compete and just enjoy the landscape'.

so i did and i was rather surprised and satisfied as i ran the distance of 21.1 km in 2:16:17.
