besides line dancing, climbing on waterfalls, playing in olympic fountains, snorkelling in the wild, diving for keys and lingering along lonely beaches i got to see somewhat exotic animals:

owls, bats, manatees, black bears, hermit crabs, butterflies, wild pigs, baby clams [and a humming bird right after our returning].

we had fun!

2008/08/12 southern flair

it felt like coming home when we entered savannah - the architecture and the parks near the river resemble garden district a lot.

the river side, unfortunately, has become extremely touristy, which is the reason why we just bought some delicious chocolate fudge [i can only recommend]..

..and walked through the historic downtown.

obviously inappropriate that we had fun at the cemetery, too.

the rain caught us after some hours, and so we kept on driving towards the atlantic ocean to tybee island for a picknick.

the lighthouse there is beautiful and spectacular, but certainly closed on tuesdays [why wouldn't they?!]..
